Tiverton Wastewater District Announces Mandatory Inspections

Central West Onsite Wastewater Treatment systems

TIVERTON, R.I. – The Tiverton Wastewater District (TWWD) respectfully reminds all Tiverton property owners that under Town ordinances, property owners are required to have their on-site wastewater treatment systems (OWTS) routinely inspected by a R.I. Registered inspector.   TWWD announces it will be notifying the property owners in the Central West subdistrict on or about October 22, 2018 that they are due for an OWTS maintenance inspection. The Central West subdistrict includes all properties within Tiverton Assessor’s Plat Maps 406, 407, 410, 411, 412, 413, 701, 702, 703, 707, 708, 709, and 710. Property owners of the Central West subdistrict must complete their inspection by December 22, 2018.  Under the Town Ordinances, failure to maintain a property’s OWTS, which includes inspections, is a violation and may be subject to fines.
