The Program

Home / Sewer
Our current wastewater collection system consists of a sewer interceptor that runs along Bay Street and the inactive railroad tracks on the western side of North Tiverton from the Fall River Municipal Wastewater Treatment Facility just north of the Tiveton town line to the southern edge of the Villages on Mt. Hope Bay development. The interceptor then runs east to the high point on Souza Road. A force main from a pumping station on Industrial Way pumps sewage to the interceptor in Souza Road.

Sewer mains that have been tied into the interceptor include spurs from Ford Farm Road, Horizon Drive, Trailer Avenue and the force main for Brookdale Sakonnet Bay senior living community. In the north-eastern corner of Tiverton, the residential community Countryview Estates, off of Hurst Lane is sewered. Wastewater from this development flows to a pumping station on Hurst Lane and is pumped into the Fall River collection system on Hancock Street.

The Tiverton Wastewater District has used Community Block Grants to build some sewer mains and laterals within the funding eligible tract between Main Road and Fish Road in the far northern end of Town. Wastewater from this area flows to a pumping station at the corner of Mill Street and Canonicus Street and is then pumped into the Fall River Wastewater Collection system. TWWD is continually looking to improve and expand the wastewater collection system within Tiverton.
